ok,
I have in my system: Arcam CD73 6H30 pre-amp PP 6B4G amps. interconnects are similar to VH ones but with copper. Speaker cables are HD-12G extension cords with battery bias -these better my CAT5 cables. problem is my speakers are a pair of old Essence Gems. 10 years old at least... 2-way with probably morel drivers. great midrange, seamless x-over, but lacking in top end sparkle and compress a little with volume. So either I need to buy a new set of speakers, or make my own. Commercially I looked at the Revel M20 and the Zingali's. Liked them both. I still want to stick to a 2-way system... with simple x-over. debating about either horns, dipoles, or even the single driver route. I really liked what the zingali's did to HF with their horns. So how about a 2-way with a horn crossed over low, say at 1K or lower then a 5 inch driver from 50 to 1K. ?? comments or ideas???? p.s. looking for highish sensitivity too... >90 |
