A few years ago I picked up a pair of Pinnacle ac 850’s from Craigslist and I must say they are fantastic! A bit light on the bass for my taste but they sound perfectly crisp.
A few days ago at a small house party they amplifier got turned up too high and the subwoofers got blown out (they no longer function, painful scratching noise when pushing them in). What drivers will make a good replacement for the subwoofers? Also, I have them paired with a Yamaha rx-v381 amplifier giving 2 channels ~70watts at 8ohm, so they’re somewhat underpowered. I’m also taking recommendations on amplifiers, but am trying to keep my spending to a minimum!
Pinnacles doesn’t seem to give out much information about the driver, but their website gives:
“Component Drivers:
1" liquid cooled aluminum dome tweeter
8" fibercone woofer with rubber surround
Frequency Response: 30-21 kHz (+/- 3 dB)
Crossover Frequency: 2.2 kHz
Recommended Amplifier Power: 15-250 Watts RMS per channel
Operative Power Range: 5-125 Watts RMS Continuous, 375 Watts Peak
Sensitivity: 93 dB (2.83 Volts Pink Noise @ 1 Meter)
Nominal Impedance: 8 Ohms
Dimensions: 9 5/8" Wide x 25 5/8" High x 10 3/4" Deep”
Apologies if this is in the wrong forum
