Anybody know anything about Vifa's new "MA" woofers?

I just got a peak at the April edition of Voice Coil, and Vance Dickason tested the Vifa MA26WR09. It's a 10" woofer with an aluminum cone and carbon fiber dust cap.

The 19hz resonant frequency caught my eye, so I tossed Dickason's measured t/s specs into WinISD.

It spit out a 1.5 cubic foot sealed box with an F3 of 33hz, and a ported 3.2 ft^3 box with a -3dB of 18hz. :D

This woofer appears to be able to go very deep in a relatively small sealed enclosure, and with almost 12mm of x-max, should be able to go very loud too.

Considering that Vifa stuff tends not to be extremely expensive, this may wind up being a heck of a driver.

Dickason lists 4 sets of specs, 2 samples, each tested with TSL model and LTD model.

spec.........tsl sample 1........tsl sample 2.........ltd sample 1........ltd sample 2
fs........21.6..............21.0..............19.0...............19.2
re........3.42..............3.44..............3.42...............3.44
sd........0.0333 for all
qms.....3.67.............3.53...............3.35..............3.65
qes.....0.51.............0.52................0.47..............0.49
qts......0.45............0.46.................0.40..............0.43
vas.....73.5ltr.........60.6.................82.5..............88.4
sens...83.5dB.........83.3................82.7..............82.8
x-max..11.6mm for all

If you plan to use this in a 3 way, due to the stellar sensitivity of this driver, you'd probably want to plan on using a separate high power sub amp on it.

This sub's low sensitivity may also negate some of its small box advantage, sense active equalization on a more sensitive sub may yield similar results. But, it still models very nicely.
