1. What is the proper placement of the port on an MTM design?
2. Does port placement make a large impact on the finished product? 3. Also, if I use the same MTM design for my center channel, is that typically OK to do? Does the port placement remain the same? Thanks in advance! |

rear or front placement does not matter, same rules apply as normal, eg rear ports mean you need to stay away from rear walls.
If you want to get really pedantic then use dual ports on either side of the tweeter so that any midrage information that might come via the ports. Personally id just put it under the drivers or on tha back. Just put it where ever you think it will look best. As for centre being MTM, this can be a problem if you lay it on its side, 2.5way is better. |

I would recommend placing it approx. at the 1/3rd mark of the the height. I prefer directly behind the tweeter.
For an mtm If you can use two & place them on the back either side of the tweeter. Then again if its close to the wall either try sealed box or stuff the ports. What are the enclosure / driver dimensions - is the box going in a cabinet/unit - how far is it from room boundaries? |
