Default Vifa Classic line missing old favorites

Vifa Classic line

It seems that Vifa has discontinued some Classic line drivers, such as the D27TG45 I was looking for. And I guess the M26 is gone, too.

Can someone confirm? Thanks.

Those drivers aren't discontinued, they are just not listed as part of an agreement between commercial loudspeaker manufacturers and Vifa. They are still in production and available. Madisound still sells them and will continue to in the future. I use the D27TG15 in one of my designs, and I was not about to post a design with a discontinued tweeter, so I talked to Madisound about why it wasn't listed on Vifa's web site.

Some manufacturers want to have "their own special tweeter" and so the drivers aren't publicly listed by Vifa. The agreement however does not stop them from being sold to other vendors and that's why Madisound and Solen sell them.

Madisound sold out of their D27TG15's since I posted my Silver Flute design, but the new batch of tweeters has been on order of a couple months. They are probably in stock again right now.

So as a result, for $20, DIY folks can get the same Vifa tweeters supplied in multi-thousand dollar commercial systems. Hooray for DIY.

Mmm, that would explain why my M22s aren't listed by Vifa but my supplier says there's no suggestion that they're going to be discontinued.
