"Ande" brand drivers

Has anyone used these? They look good if the specs are true.

18" woofer as example: Ande SB18-5 18" 1000W woofer / driver

I've used the 15" in a few applications. Given that the big name brands are really expensive to get in Oz they are pretty good value. Heavy as lead but nice construction. Have 4 in some BFM48 titan FLH subs and 2 in some THAM15s. Not had any experience with the CDs though- would be interested if anyone has some experience with them that they would like to share.

Have a look at this one, although it is a 15" driver and it is the same price, it is an exceptional driver well worth a look. I use it myself in an open baffle design.

Belfield music sells the Celestion range and does free shipping too, not bad value

23 Kg for an 18" driver is crazy heavy, the Ferrite Celestion rated at 1000W is half that, Neodymium would be much lighter still.
Something to think about if you have to move them.

Very difficult to find much information on the Ande drivers and frequency response can vary wildly with these sort of PA woofers.

I use a faital pro 12FH520 in my midbass horn and i agree they make nice units

The celestion looks good too. For that price I reckon its a better option than the Ande drivers

In situations were size is not a limit (e.g. infinite baffle, slot loaded open baffle), a large array of very cheap woofers seems like a good option.

The frequency response of the Celestion is quite good for an 18 inch driver.
The highest crossover frequency might be best set at 300c/s if one wants the best out of it.

Hi Hollowboy, its just a prototype at the moment. Short conical horn with 800 x 400 mouth. Good to about 200hz crossover. Pics below, cheers
