In J-River, select the 8 channels driver for your exasound.
Be sure to select 7.1 channels (8 total)
You send the left/right signal into the other channels. (copy command)
You doing your filters with high pass, low-pass
You want reorder the channels to be sure to know what is highs/mid and low.
For me, left/right are highs. surrounds are mids and back are lows.
Sub and center to you 4nd voice.
With VDM driver, you can use other software and send output to j-river. J-river will filter and room correction before output the signal.
EXTERNAL crossover is safer but you will have degradation of the signal /or not the same DAC quality of the Exasound.
In active setup, before hit play, make sure your filters are active in j-river and begin with low volume !
