Default Mb Quart MCD25

I've seen this tweeter around and especially on ebay. Does anyone know of this tweeter, it's specs and how it performs? All reviews are welcomed

Default Rather Excellent Tweeter

Hello,

I plan to make a new crossover for an MB Quart driver compliment. It belonged to an MB Quart speaker (2X6.5'' + MCD 25). The cabinet has already been made again DIY (the same size), but with very steardy construction and excellent looks. The main reason we wanted to remake the speaker was the tweeter. It sounds excellent. If my memory serves me right must have seen it on Aerial Acoustics flagship 8 years ago. Maybe modified though. Well worth purchasing. For how much is it offered?

Yes those specs do looks rather nice. Nothing bad to say about them, its got a very nice xmax, although its fs isnt remarkable if suppressed this tweet could probably handle its fair share of low xovers.

The double magnet version was added to the MB product line, after testing the custom version they were building for Avalon Acoustics.

They are very good tweeters.

I used this one years ago. These MB-Quart parts have a nice built quality. I still use the 50mm Supronyl version in my speakers at home.
I found an old book with data about it:

I guess i should of also told you'll i want to run it for highs in my car . Im guessing it should work the same way. what you'll think? If it isnt good, i saw the Morel MDT-20 and would buy that instead. But is that morel tweeter worth the $53 ?

Just note that the Qts of 1.56 tells me you have to careful and
take this into account when designing the crossover.
There is also likely to be a high impedance peak at resonance.

However if you pad it down for level matching using a series /
parallel resistor combination the parallel resistance will suppress
the impedance peak.
But not the frequency response peak due to Qts.

sreten.
