In consumer reports i read this is a better deal than the Harmon Kardon AVR325. ANyone have experience with either of these recievers.

You are not going to hear much difference in any amplifiers. I would suggest you educate yourself on the options, then try out several different types and find one that has the features you will use and has a workable user interface. After using a few, you will find one that makes more sense to you. Make sure that whichever one you choose will drive the speakers you intend to use it with to the levels you expect.

No idea, but consumer reports has consitently shown that when it comes to hifi they have no idea what they are talking about.
