I'll be placing a W8-740C in a 1.08cu ft external (9.5x7.875x25 -- .75" MDF) cabinet and would like to know what length and diameter of port would be required to get a decent response out of this setup.
I can model it all day long in winisd and unibox but really have no idea what optimal 'tuning' is for HT nor what anomalies i should be looking for while designing such a sub. Any help with this setup would be greatly appreciated, thanks! |

Leadbelly, RAW's 14" cube is about .5cu ft larger than my enclosure so his findings are more or less meaningless to me.
Thanks anyways |

Unless you live in an apt. or this is for a computer system, it's totally inadequate for HT. Optimal tuning would be ~18Hz, which means you're better off leaving it sealed and accept the meager output since the vent will be larger than the sub.

If you have winisd and unibox, punch Al's numbers in to see the frequency he tuned to, and then use that for your volume.
