Default speaker connection?

Hi there,

I have an old bose acousticmass sub module and the dual cube satellites. Right now i have connected the speaker output from the amp to the bass module input and then from the bass module to the satellites.

I wanted to know if I can connect the satellites directly to the amp and run the bass module with another amp connected to the sub output from the satellites connected amp.

Thanx,

Tony.

Hello

Your can connect your satellit on your main amplifier and the sub on another amplifier.
Be careful to load from speaker (4 - 8 ohm ...) and maximum power.
About signal you can chain the amplifier by disconnect preamplifier from amplifier if possible.

Regard,

Thierry.

Hi

yeah, I meant can I connect the dual cube sat directly to the amp ? Instead of connecting it from the bass module.

Thanx,

Tony.

Everything looks fine to me but be sure you match the correct spkr impedance with your amp tap. And be carefull with your sats, usually small units are easier to blow out.

Simple answer here is no you can't, assuming
the bass module contains a passive crossover.

The satellites will quickly expire driven full range.
The sub out is likely to have a too low c/o frequency.

You need to get a high pass crossover to use with the sat speakers. They need to be protected from the low frequency energy. That is one of the jobs done by the passive sub box.
