Hi Guys I am writing because I need some Advice Please!!!

After owning various speaker I decided to build My First speaker an Open baffle, but I think I went too far LOL. My Idea was to build a 4 tower (2 bass and 2 Highs) system I already bought the Bass driver (8 AE Dipole 15) 4 per channel and I was considering using an BG RD 75 ribbon for the mid and highs which I already own, and cross it at 300hz using a Behringer DEQ 2496, DCX2496 Combo. The only Issue is that I have a Crown K2 for the bass modules but my amp for the BG is a Primaluna Dialog Premium HP 85wpc at 8ohms and the BG RD75 is 88db at 6ohm therefore I am concern that it will not have enough juice for it.

So I decided to explore other options for the Mid-Highs and these are:
1) A full range array using (9) Tang Band W5-2143 or (9) Markaudio Alpair-10P per channel.
2) An Ultra High end MT array using (4) ScanSpeak Revelator 18W 7” woofer and (2) ScanSpeak Beryllium Dome Revelator Tweeter one in the front and one in the rear.
3) A Conservative MT array using (10) Peerless PPB 830860 5.25” or Fountek FW146 5.5” woofers and (20) Vifa BC25SC55-04 1" Textile Dome Tweeter.

Please whish one of these 3 Options you think will be the best solution and best match for the 4 AE dipole 15 I will use.

I obviously prefer 2 way that way I don’t have to invest in an additional 2 channel of amplification or using passive crossovers.

Or should I just do the original option with the BG RD75 and just upgrade my amps.

Best,
Eric

I'm confused. Why do you want to build a large midrange array to go in top of open baffle bass? Do you need the efficiency or power handling? As you'll have 4 15 inch woofer per side, you've gone a long way to make up for the open baffle bass losses. You will need a midrange that can keep up, but that's not to hard to do.

I've heard the Eminence Beta-8 as a midrange driver in open baffle with two 15s per side for bass and it had no trouble. Also heard the Beta 12LTA as a midrange on top of twin 18 inch OB bass, no problem there. You don't suffer the OB losses in the midrange like you do in the bass, so you don't really need multiple drivers for domestic use.

ericimage2,

I notice you want to use 4*AE dipole 15, I am thinking of using these drivers, I have a few questions:
1. Have you heard them before?
2. Which model will you be using?
any other info(besides tech. spec) you may have about Audio Elegence OB drivers.

Thks.
