Guys

I prefer the looks of a high end speaker without grills but wife wants grills with kids around etc for more safety factor.

Is it possible to embed magnets into the front baffle either placing them flush with the MDF and veneering over them or close to the surface by placing them in holes from the opposite side? Then they would not be visible but would have enough strength to hold a lightweight grill in place with matching magnets.

Other ideas or confirmation of this one?

Thanks!
Jim

was considering the same thing some time ago, it is very do-able, parts express sell these magnets or you could get somefrom the dump from an old washing machine motor or something like that.
I chose not to undertake this as it may not have worked, im now going to use small velcro butons (10-15mm) as im having a black baffle, but af for the magnets drill out from the back and leave a few mm on the front, then insert your magnets and fill it upwith epoxy or aroldite, then just make sure the magnets on the grill are aligned.
