Who's using trueRTA? or something similar?

Thinking about buying it -

Trying to figure out which one to buy.

Which level to purchase, etc.

All comments and input welcomed.

I have tried the free version. It's not a bad program, but it is more useful for room acoustics/EQ applications than loudspeaker frequency response measurement for crossover design, etc.... Use Speaker workshop for that, or if you want something with support, buy SoundEasy or LspCAD.

I use TrueRTA for RTA measurements and ETF for MLS measurements. As mentioned, for room measurments TrueRTA is fine, but for crossover work you want to take the room out as much as possible via windowing which is why ETF (or LSPCad or SoundEasy would be a better choice.

I need to buy a sound card for a new computer.

Would there be any one that might be more compatible for future use with one of these proggies?

I need to get the sound card now - program would be in the future.

Just make sure it is a full duplex stereo soundcard with line ins and line outs as well as a mic input.

I have heard really good things about the M-audio delta 410. It's about $10 more than the ubiquitous junky Creative cards, but it is an entry-level pro card.

That said, my VIA on-motherboard sound system works fine with SW, but the bandwidth is limited at the low end - poor response below 20Hz makes measuring low-res drivers difficult - I have to tweek levels a lot to get the signal out of the noise at low frequencies.
