I didn't want to hijack the other thread, so here's a new one.
What I take from Nuuk's post is that if the sub to satellite crosspoint is 90 Hz, it's quite OK for the satellites to have an F3 of 120 Hz(?) 90 / 0.75 = 120. Is it as simple as this? I have a 12" sub with lots of available power, and a Yamaha receiver rated 90 W x 6 channels into 8 ohms. I'm looking to replace my existing loudspeakers, one or two at a time, with sealed cabs with full range drivers (to be determined). I just want to confirm that an F3 of 120 Hz or lower will yield a smooth transition from sub to sats. TIA, dooper |

true. going purely by ear i xoed my sub at 60Hz and sat at 80hz (1st octave PLLXO) for best results.

For Linkwitz/Riley alignments crossover is at F6 of each driver,
by offsetting F3 above and below the c/o frequency you are effectively moving towards a L/R type alignment. |
