I've put these on this forum because Troels Gravesen has talked about it with the new 12WU Illuminator almost a year ago.

I was interesed for comparing the data with other tweeters of this kind.
I hope that will do for others.

Hidden talents, compared to Accuton, no i don`t think so. The C25-6-158 is also other option.

@ Lojzek
What does the Qts do in combination with tweeters?
Accuton gives for the C25 and the C30 an Qts of 0.6. Sadly Hifi-selbstbau.de measures for the C25 an Qts of 0.87.

The sharp rise in the roll-off region of the 604 000 toward midrange
frequencies is telling us that the motor is weak. Since the main reason
for this kind of construction is reducing the ctc distance, very useful
when building MTM's, the more powerful motor would increase the
tweeter's sensitivity. This way the tweeter is good for about 90dB.
Not really a bargain product and I'm certain it plays very nice.

It's not necessarily that the motor is weak, it's more that the chamber used is far too small for the drivers overall parameters. Both have to be in balance. The motor is strong enough to give the driver a nominal 87dB sensitivity Re 8 ohms, which is plenty for the majority of applications.

The high Qts can easily be handled with the xover too, although the driver with the larger chamber would be the obvious choice.

With regards to the updated data sheet it looks like they've managed to get the top octave droop a little more under control.

I agree they ought to be in balance. Force factor is 1,2 Tm
for the D3004 602 000 and 1,7 for the 602 010 which
lowers Qes significantly, greater chamber volume does some too.
The difference in dcr is only 0,15 so the majority has to be coming
from the motor.

Too bad Scan Speak doesn't say anything about the magnet weight
or wire diameter.
