Default Help!!!!!!! Sonotube Alternative

I live in trinidad thats in th ecarribbean.....i dont think we carry sonotubes over here.Butwe have a paper manufacturing company over here....and the tubes they wrap the paper around are thick cardboard ubes..........i was wondering if its safe to use that instead of the sonotubes u all are talking abou.........feedback would be appreciated.......if anyone lives in trinidad would u please tell me where o get sonotubes..bye

What are the dimensions of the tubes you have access to?

i really dont have a clue......but is about 1 inch thick or so.......what i really want to know is ....can the tubes still work as a sonotube??

1" thick would definitely thick enough. Now if you can estimate the tubes diameter we can get an idea if they can work. Try to estimate the length as well if you can. If they get to be 3 or 4 feet in diameter, they might be too big for a sono tube.

nahhhhhh its not that thick..........its within the vicinity that i see the sonotubes on tha net.......about the same diameter...yhx

Even 1/2" thich would work ok. If you say they look about the same diameter as the ones you see on the net, they will probably work. If one tube is not long enough, you can use two or more end to end. I think you should grab a few of them. Don't forget to ask first or

Sonotubes are made from cardboard.

ohhhhhhhhhh thanks then.........so its safe to say although the tube i am usins is not sonotube..........but it can still wirk as effectivetely??????...no resonance probs????

You need to get the tubes and take some measurements to know for sure.
