Default 13m8640-00 need help!

hi somebody has tried this scan-speak cone midrange .
how do it sounds.

You will have to search far and wide to find anything that is very much better. It is difficult to work with. You MUST include a notch filter to tame the peak at about 11kHz. Another one at about 2500 would flatten the response even more. This speaker is good enough to be used as a full range and you will miss only a very little at the high and low ends. Most natural, detailed driver you are likely to use. I listen to it daily in a ScanSpeak transient perfect three-way, and it is ideal for shallow crossover use due to its wide response. Don't try to cross it below about 400Hz and you will love it.

I've never worked with or even heard the Dynaudio.......you're on your own. You might want to ping Dave Ralph on the Madisound board. He has worked with the 8640 for a long time. If you just put .08mH in series with 3uF and shunt this across the terminals of the 8640 it becomes very reasonable to deal with. Good luck.
