EBS transient response

I want to make an extended bass shelf box for an Infinity 1030w. I plan to tune it to 23hz (f3). I read that the transient response of ported boxes is poor. I don't expect excellent transient response at 30hz, that's the cost of low end extension I guess. Is it safe to assume that at midbass frequencies the woofer would behave as if in a sealed box?

Well, it's not great, but then neither is our hearing acuity down low so if tuned low, then by the time our hearing acuity starts picking up, the group delay has decayed to inaudibility.

Actually, if you compare a low tuned EBS's group delay to a 0.5 Qtc sealed cab with the same driver/Fb, the EBS is slightly lower up where it counts.
