Outside speakers for A-frame roof

A couple of years ago I built a roof over part of my deck (see pic). This summer, I'd like to add sound under the roof. Since it's outside, I'm not going to put in very expensive components, but I don't want to just slap something in there either. I'd like to put all the components up near the rafters, out of the way of snow and rain. This imposes a few requirements:

1) The amp should be small, have a remote on-off and capability, and remote connectivity (bluetooth?).

2) The speaker configuration should be able to take advantage of the A-frame roof to focus the sound and create a nice listening area below. Since it's outside, unusual configurations (e.g. long wacky pipes) are possible.

The dimensions of the covered area are about 20 feet by 25 feet.

I'm thinking that the sensible way to do this would be to decide the speaker configuration, and then determine how to amp the speakers. I'm all for building as much of the configuration myself as possible, since I like the DIY aspect of it.

Any suggestions and ideas will be most welcome.

Hi,

A complicated problem due the lack of an enclosed
space and the bass boosting effects of such spaces.

Hard to say more without understanding what
your expecting out of such a difficult situation.

rgds, sreten.

Yes, that's true, thanks for the response.

Well, I don't really have specific expectations. I would be interested in ideas for anything interesting and that would give me results different than if I just put up a pair of speakers against the wall. After all, the bass-boosting space is there - can one use it in any way? What would you like to do if given that space?

Oh yeah I forgot to mention, the roof is at a height of 9 feet.

As sreten says, it's hard to give any feedback without some direction. So I'll put up a couple of strawman arguments, motivated by the fact that there's a lot of available space near the rafters.

1. I could build some cases that are way too tall for my wife to allow them in the house and hang them up horizontally so that they fire downwards (e.g. Kirishima?)

2. On second thought why bother with folded transmission lines, I could use PVC pipe and actually run a 20 foot transmission line with one bend. And maybe I could let the open end fire upwards towards the roof. I wonder what that would sound like.

I guess I'm looking for ideas like these.
