do i need to use tweeters

Looks like it should be good in a TL... you also need the BL to plug the thing into Martin's Worksheets/Tables

there was in 2003 already a thread on this speaker
it sames to be a fullrange too spl is 87 dB !!

I am not much into pure TLs, but I did a ML-TL awhile back for someone and you can use stuffing at the vent to get a ~TL like roll off/transient response if it is too boomy in-room. Let me know if you are interested.

I'd take him up on his offer. The couple designs of his i built turned out well.

Hi everyone,

seems I was the one GM helped doing some simulations for the W160 AL. I have built a 42" MLTQWT following his plan and am very satisfied.
The Gradient W160 AL is a quite affordable aluminium woofer with lots of resonances in the upper frequency range.

German magazine Klang+Ton recommended to just ignore the resonances and use the woofer as a fullrange driver. Those people were right. The Gradient W160 AL represents a philosophy opposite to most Fostex fullrange drivers: Bass down to 30 Hz is no issue and enough Xmax - but highs should be more refined.
