AFAIK mbl does not hold a patent for their omni drivers as a concept, i do not know whether there are patents concerning some implementation details.

Maybe they were aware of an early predecessor model, i don't know.

There are a WHOLE BUNCH of such magazines at that site. A good way to kill an evening or a week of them.
