Default Adding a subwoofer to my desktop speakers (Aura ns-3/Lepai 2020+)

Okay, so I had big plans for this computer set up. I was going to build a 2.1 that would rival the infamous z2300 by Logitech. Well that'd take a good 400 when it's all said and done. Pretty sure you can pick up a z2300 on the bay for 100, lol. No assembly required.

Anyways, so I have a pair of Aura ns-3's and a lepai 2020. This is actually the design by roemer, chris. And is he related to ole or an astronomer? Heu heu heu.

Well, yeah 50hz is achievable, but it's not very loud. The lepai clips at half volume already. I really should have stuck to the 4 ohmers. Mine are 8 ohm so I'm getting lil 6 watts maybe?

I want some bass. I was going to do the tang band w5 and a plate amp, but for the heck of it I parallelled my roommates el cheapo Panasonic subwoofer to one of my channels and it shook my walls. Plenty loud and I'm probably gonna stick this in the bathroom anyways.

They say the 2020 can't be bridged. Well elaborate. You mean it can't be bridged for more power or it cant be bridged for getting left and right into a subwoofer. I could care less about power. My bathroom is tiny, I just want left and right.

If I can't do this, then I'll probably pick up two 8 ohm subs and parallel each one for each channel.

But that'd be an extra 15 dollars. So can I just bridge the lepai anyways to get my left and right channel? And if so stick with an 8 ohm or?

Pe has those 4" tang bands for 11 but they are 2 ohm

You can't bridge already bridged.

Should be ok with a DVC 8".

Try 1st order series x/o's @100Hz.

rgds, sreten.

When you say 1st order, I assume you're just talking about an inductor in series with the speaker? How does that work with a dvc speaker? Do the inductor values add? One inductor per coil?

I picked up an enclosure from the thrift store. Enclosure: 10.75" deep x 7" wide x 14.25" tall or .53 cubic feet. There is a front facing port 1.5" diameter flared to 3" and it's about 3.5" deep.

I'll just mount the Dayton 8 sub on the side and glue a piece of wood over the oem sub hole.

Sub: Dayton Audio SD215A-88 8" DVC Subwoofer

Can I just use the existing port or get another one from parts express? I can invert the subwoofer to get more portage in there

I'd like to keep the existing port or at least the flared part because it flushes up with the front of the baffle. If needed, I'd just glue some pvc to extend it longer
