Improving Celestion Ditton 33s?

Ok, I've got a pair of old Celestion Ditton 33s.

1 cabinet was completely cactus. the other not too bad.
Drivers (10", 5" and 1") and crossover fine.

So....have the opportunity to rebuild (bigger, better faster)..

What what you do (i.e. and keeping original drivers)?

Cab build - rebuild to original or modifications?
Crossover - modifications?

I would never suggest a novice to do the performance upgrade
without prior learning how to and without understanding it.

Repairing the original enclosure and exchanging caps out of
specs with appropriate ones would be a good start.
