Default Transmission line folds question

Just wondering if there are any rules regarding number/position of folds in a transmission line speaker? Does it matter how many folds there are as as long as the length/cross section of the line is correct?

This isn't a "rule" but the dividers that create the folds need to form line segments having a reasonably long length relative to the distance being traversed. For instance, let's say you wanted a total line length of 60 inches and the depth of the line is 6" along its whole length. If the line is folded once within a 30-inch height, each of the two segments would be 30 inches long, with the divider at 24 inches in length equaling 80% of the 30-inch run. Folding the line into 3 equal length segments creates 20-inch long segments with dividers 14 inches long, or 70% of their 20-inch runs. Folding the line into 4 equal segments makes them each 15 inches long with dividers 9 inches long, or 60% of their 15-inch runs. At some point, depending on all of the dimensions involved and the number of folds, you can end up with the dividers acting more like just solid braces than as line-forming members. My rule of thumb, then, which I cannot scientifically support from rigorous testing results, is to not allow the line dividers' lengths be less than 2/3 of the line segments' lengths, but shoot for 75% or more if possible.
