Someone was asking in another thread if I would show these a little more. They started life as a set of Community speakers from a pub and I added the blowout Sammi Coax's from Parts Express. Here they are on Vancouver Island this last weekend for the annual diyFest at planet10's. I use 4 amps in a tri-amp system with one Tascam for each on the mids and one for the two tweeters. The Hafler 500 runs the woofers. XO's are the Behringer CX2310.

It was a straightforward build, no rebating the drivers but I threw in a stick brace or five, a divider panel for the coax and a bunch of holes behind it. Quick build as it was butt joints with cleats so there was no waiting, just full steam ahead. For less than $500 it's hard to beat. They sounded quite good and on top of that, Dave now has a clean driveway. :)

Those are the biggest mid-range drivers and tweeters that I have ever seen (?).
Yes, it's always interesting when you use a mid the same size as the woofer. The 48dB xo (IIRC) seemed to work best at 120Hz and 3kHz.
Love the lighting in the first shot. :D
Thanks to Dave proteges, Daniel and Brandon. They had some 1000 or so LED lights strung up including that single multi-watt unit under the canopy. Sure made life easy for the fat guy. :)
