Default 2.1 Plate amp and Comosite

Would it be possible to run a 2.1 speaker setup using a 2.1 plate amp fed from the composite connection straight from the TV?

Hi, the term "composite" is used in the video section, I guess, such as RGB...
When the audio signal goes thru 2 wires is called "stereo" or "two-channels".
The signal that goes to the subwoofer amplifier is derived directly from the two channels by summing them ( so>>mono) and a steep low-pass filter set below 100 Hz.

I apologize if I used he wrong term. I am referring to the Red and White stereo connection for audio only. I am hoping for improved audio without the need of an AV receiver.

As long as the output is variable, you wil be able to control the volume with the TV remote. If not, you have to use the gain or volume control on the plate amp which can be a pain.

Difficult, I fear. As long as they ( Tvs) have available thru RCA's or via SCART only the line output but not the pre output.
Sort of pre-out is available at the headphones jack, with a little more distortion because of the amplifier stage ( being it simply derived with resistors from power amplifier's output or with dedicated low power amp ).

It depends on the TV. Check to see if the RCA line level outs are variable.
