another imp thing is I want the heaviest magnet from bolton that is .... i want to know what is the maximum size of the magnet does bolton manufactures... I need very good BL product.. upto the extent that i know max magnet size is 120mm but i ve heard that there are woofers with 230mm magnets.......... and are they really available in bolton woofers if so what could be the price of the woofers..... 12 inch 100watts RMS please mail me smartdeep21@yahoo.com

Default Bolton Website.

Hi Deep,
I don't think there is a Bolton website or any place you can see their pricing. You will have to ask members on the forum to find out from their local markets. Bangalore is nearest I guess.
Someone will probably put up some pricing .
In any case that would not amount to too much as the performance is not generally specified . You may hav eto buy it and test it out for yourself. My experience has been that with bigger drivers ( 12 inches ) the Qts is generally high. 0.6 odd in the driver I measured. May be Ok for fitting in the rear deck of a car !
Cheers.

Default hi

pls

check out my thread in the trade section _ transducers manufactured by me in india

and also in loudspeakers _ factors important to choosing drivers

hope you will find it interesting

could you also let me know the largest magnet sixe you require

i manufacture double magnet motor structures in 230 mm dia magnet size

magnet height 2 X 25 mm

if you require bigger magnets _ please specify

as i have a german impulse magnet charger which can charge upto 270 mm

in a triple magnet configuration

that is 3 x 25 mm

i have a large impulse charger for my underhung motor structure designs (as used in ATC drivers)

to increase bl i have used upto 6 layer voice coils

if you would like more than that please specify

Well ur very good manufacturer in India

Please can u make drivers better than Bolton 12 inch drivers...like 30FW22 ( in terms of quality )
I need extremely heavy and extremely deep bass what i mean to say is ..... i will listen to music at medium volumes and i want to experience deeeeeeeepppest bass. with very low distortion....

Preferably like

270mm magnet...
100mm thickness (may be tripple or quad magnet structure)
8 ohms impedence
100 watts RMS power rating
18-1000Hz of freq response
94db sensitivity
....etc...

Is it possible to tell me what could be the price of each driver with these configurations.... but i have to talk to u alot becoz....

I want to check some woofers from u later i will make a deal of many woofers but remember the price bracket is also very important so please make a reasonable price....

well is it an industry or what i couldnt get the right picture..but one imp thing that i suggest that make a website and display everything what u make there.....

well mail me about this to smartdeep21@yahoo.com

( very imp for me ) and how much did they take to make a design like that..... if u have any idea about this then tell me ...... welll what it could be if want a new design and sell it with my brand name.... what do u think about this....

well mail me about this to smartdeep21@yahoo.com

Default hi

My subs will out - do boltons and peerlesses with out a competitoin

with a triple magnet structure you will get a sensitivity of about 108 db in the subs its elf or more - depending on the design and how much rock bottom you would like it to hit

provided the cabinets are rock solid and the amps are good these will take on any imported high end easily head on

since it was difficult to suggest a good sub circuit with a

1 ) crossover ,

2) a parametric bass boost (at a variable frequency)

3) a good summing amp ,

4) a phase correction circuit

5) a liner bass correction circuit

which are essential in a good sub design - input circuitry

all before a high current out - put amp

- you will find this type of a circuit as standard in high end subs -

we have designed our own circuit _

pcb c component layout ets , all connector - connected all pots pcb mounting and easy to assemble (when comleted the pcb s assemble like a computer ! - no soldering! )

with a darlington output stage para push pull) which is extremely stable

tested to distruction at 2 ohms load with an output current of 6 to 7 amp s and a rms voltage of 32 to 35 volts

(with an E-I transformer)

as the output amplifier , the costs of the darlington s are rs 35 to 40 only

this circuit was designed with costs in mind and is extremely cost effective and is a much scaled down version of a mosfet design i had made - with similar peformances

2 ohms spks work the best in this keeping costs low by saving you transformer costs by increasing the efficiency of the transformer - that is more power / per VA

i make subs with oem in mind you can have yours designed in any config and ohms ets which will only be your s and you can sell it is as your product

pls mail me for further enquiry as i think its going out of scope of diy

plus i didnt understand the part about me designing for other companys

Hi Suranjan,

How much would a pair of 15 inch subs cost with some of its specs as follows:

1. Fs between 20 and 25 Hz
2. Qts between 0.8 and 1.0
3. Qms should be reasonably low.
4. Sensitivity over 92db/watt ( maybe 96 to 100db)
5. Dc resistance of coil over 5 ohms
6. Linear Xmax of about 6 to 10mm ( 12 to 20 mm peak to peak)
7. Power handling about 250 watts .

I have given a wide range as I do not know the properties of the materials you have.
I would guess you used high temperature expoy to bond your coils. Is the coil former Aluminum or Nomex ?
Surrounds will have to be rubber.

If you want to go off line , you can email me at amadhavan@eth.net
Cheers,
ashok.

Default well excellent design....

well according to that 108 db specification can u tell me what could be the price of the

12 inch woofer
tripple stacked magnet sturcture
108db sensitivity
270mm magnets
100watts of power
also tell me what would be the weight of the above woofer (approx...?)

( one this is that that must give the deepest bass)
just tell me the price and also tell me how to buy coz im from Andhra Pradesh... please tell me ..... mail me to smartdeep21@yahoo.com im intrested in ur products....

Default hi

first of all ill mail you guys the price s etc

diy forum _ i love to respect it !

about the question on 15 inches and alumunium and nomex

LET THE TRUTH COME OUT

manufacturers who know no better to entice customers with

use

1) alumunium

2) nomex

alumunium interfers heavily with the magnetic fields

in simle terms

it generates a field within itself and huge amounts of eddy current when moved by the coil in the magnetic field of the speaker magnet

leading to huge distortions

name one high end driver manufacturer using it
focal , audax , morel ets dont

it used to be used by GAUSS in pro audio above 500 w RMS

that was in the 80 s Gauss though very good drivers have been sold out to EV a long time back and these drivers are history

nomex

take any nomex and holod it above a candle - ull see it blistering immediately

why

nomex is hygroscopic , it absorbs moisture , when this moisture is heated _ it obviously turns to steam

the problem

the expansion ratio of water to steam is thousand times

there fore as the steam escapes little bits of the gas is trapped and the nomex blisters

if this happens in your speaker the voice coil will get jammed - without even the coil having burnt out

spun lace nomex is used for voice coils , its not available in india

as its not required -

nomex is here in india as its used as a insulating material in transformers ets ,

I USE KAPTON ONLY

AND IMPORTED HIGH IMPORTED HIGH TEMPERATURE WIRES AND ADHISIVES

PLEASE CHECK OUT MY THREAD IN THE TRADE SECTION

TRANSDUCERS MANUFACTURED BY ME IN INDIA

DETAILED DISCUSSION OF MY DRIVERS IS THERE
