So, I have a set of kicker car 6x9s. They have an rms of 150 watts and a max of 300 watts each. Would they still get LOUD and sound GREAT with only a 50 watt rms amp? What about a 25w rms amp? Even if they would sound good with a 50 watt amp, would a 100watt amp sound best?
Thanks!

RMS ratings are almost irrelevant. Yes, they would be loud with a 50W amp because it is their EFFICIENCY that matters. Power ratings is when the voice coil burns up or cone comes flying out of the basket. ( or for car speakers, total BS anyway) Sounding great is a matter of if they are great. Kickers are popular value speakers designed to be much better than the car OEM speakers. They are not great. You will probably never put more than 3 or 4 Watts AVERAGE into them in a car without getting a nosebleed. Pick the quality amplifier. Not the biggest one.

I do assume you intend to use these in a car. Car speakers are usually 4 Ohms or less and home amplifiers are not designed for those loads.

Yes but why would you want to series the speakers? Is this not for stereo listening? The amp is happy with a 4Ω load. Also it's 50Wx2 at 10% THD so be happy if it gives you 10Wx2 in the real world. Having said that, you'll need 100Wx2 if you want it to be twice as loud as 10Wx2.
Remember that car drivers often rely on a rather large box, ie: the trunk to work well so sometimes aren't the best for home use.
