to use spikes or not on T/L boxes

do I need to use spikes on the T/L boxes I am planing on making .

You will have to listen to see if the difference is an improvement or not -- how spiked fair is very dependent on your speakers & room.

Yes, and the type of flooring and the alternative to spikes.

My experience is that they are nearly always better than no alternative.

Alternatives are things like marbles seated in a recess, large
pointed feet, blutacking to hard floors, blutacking to a heavy
slab and isolation platforms for the whole speaker.

Effects are very dependent on floor construction in my opinion.
