tweeter sub-in for HF2000 for Celestion Ditton 66

Hi

Anyone know of a proper substitution for the HF2000 tweeters? My friend thinks that the original tweeters in his Ditton 66 are dying and would like to restore his highs.

hello! and happy new year.

what do you mean by diyng? is there still some output?
maybe you could first check for bad connections at the tweeters pins, or a bad solder joint in the filter;
such things happen especially with old speakers (i assume it is the 1970' version)
if everything is ok, then try this link :

but bear in mind that a filter is really dedicated to a specific driver and changing drivers should involve checking for alterations in the response curve.

There's probably some bipolar electrolytic capacitors
in the crossover that have seen much better days.

Tweeters don't die slowly in my experience.

Also look for any corrosion if connectors are used.

Recommend new crossover capacitors and hard
wiring of all connections.
