Glueing 3.6mm plywood or veneering for best sound?

Hello, am in the process of building my first 2-way speakers using seas drivers and plan on glueing 3.6mm plywood (then stain) instead of veneer to existing 18mm MDF and 4mm bitumen pads on inside of cabinet. My intent is to stop the box resonating but was wondering if it will make any audible difference. The cabinet dont vibrate too much and i do have braces. Thanks.

would be fine and improve things a bit as long as it is void free.

Thanks again Greebster, glad it could improve things, makes it worth while, i was planning on using a contact adhesive or veneer glue, which would u choose?

Wouldn't use a contact cement do to void issue, others will argue this. A good glue like titebond would be my preference. Slow curing, easy water cleanup, but must be clamped prestigiously. Vacuum bagging also works well.
