Help! Pair of Hi-FI cabs with 2 x 12"

Bought these cabs from a Habitat for Humanity "re"-store. A previous owner had removed all the woofers and one of the mids from each cabinet. Cutouts are 11.25, 4.25, 3.25. For woofer, mids, tweets respectively. 2 of each driver in each cab. I want to net an 8 ohm load. My question is what do most of you prefer between using 2x16ohm parallel, 2x8ohm series for woofers? These are sealed cabinets with a volume of 3.92 cu. ft. but would consider venting. 3 way setup in each cab with 6 drivers. Would consider going 2 way 4 driver per cab.

2x8 ohm in series would net 16 ohms nominal, do you mean 2x4?

Either will work, depending on the circumstances. Generally though, you'll want closely matched drivers if you put them in series.
