I broke the tiny hair-like wire going through the dome of the tweeter while trying to remove gunked up glue/damping compound on the fabric. B&W has no replacements/parts for that old a speaker. Re-soldering is not an option since not enough wire left. Does anyone have a B&W T26 tweeter to sell?

Youre absolutely right! I shouldnt've smessed with it and santa has no sympathy either. damn! but i've been known to break all kinds of things - i just destroyed a vintage mechanical jaeger le coultre watch by polishing the dial with the movement still on it. go figure. but i bet you've broken a thing or 2 in your day or maybe you're one of those lucky dudes that always does everything perfectly - either way, i need the tweeter!!!

Maybe it can be repaired.
One of the two wires to the voice coil usually can be easily unwound one turn, so it depends which one is broken, and how easy it is to recentre the magnet. I've fixed a Seas tweeter with a broken wire before. |
