When I blew up the Bass drivers in my B&W 683's I ordered two new ones from B&W. I posted the blown drivers on E-Bay as faulty with a view that someone could find some use for them. Can you imagine my surprise when they sold for more than the replacement drivers.

The buying may not have read the ad carefully and start complaining when he receives the order.
A lot of folks have given up on ebay over here, with the high fees and high prices for yard sale junk.

I made 200% sure that the description was correct. I even got guys at work to read it to make sure that it wasn't ambiguous in any way. I even e-mailed the buyer to ask him what he wanted them for, there is absolutely no doubt that he knew what he was buying.

I've found this also. People seem to lose all sense of the intrinsic value of what they're buying on e-Bay.

The old addages about 'there's one born every minute' and 'a fool and his money are easily parted' still hold true in the digital age.

I would be very careful selling these on Ebay even though you went the extra mile to let the buyer know the condition. Ebay and Paypal will just about always take the buyer's side with complaints. Even if they side with you, Paypal will probably freeze your account till the matter is settled if they do contest it.

Exactly. I have some functional but worn bass guitar speakers (gigged with for 2 + years)

I would have trouble giving them away with a clear conscience.

A daft young man sent me a large vintage 3 channel Rotel amp in a flimsy cardboard box, the terminals on the back snapped off.
I finally received a refund, spend hours though and had to fabricate new box with foam. Very aggravating when I receive a email from this young fellow saying he was "tried of bending over backwards for me".

Starting to think there are some ploys out there to the blame the shipper and get away with minor insurance fraud sending items that are not working/broken in the first place.

Amps are the worst as far as shipping, heavy and very fragile!!

The buyer just buys duff drivers, repairs them and then plays with them. I advertised them for 99p, it's up to them how much they want to pay for them.

B&W spares can be difficult to come by in certain countries - Easy in UK.

The buyer probably collects the parts and repairs or sources them out. They can be repaired if cost feasible, in some cases the cost can be several times less.

Theres a good case in point^ to import some that are already expensive to buy =$$$.
