Hello, I have a pair of Celestion DL8 (series 1) speakers, I would like to see if I can make them sound a little better by changing the capacitors. Can someone point me in the right direction about how I can find out which capacitors I could use that would make a difference please? Thanks in advance.
Do you want to upgrade (make a circuit with a different transfer function, which would likely involve different resistors and inductors as well as caps) or "upgrade" (slap in new parts with different brands)?
If the former, start with measurements of the drivers in those cabinets.
If the latter, then just decide how much placebo you are willing to pay for, and pick a brand/part accordingly. It won't make any actual difference unless the values are way off, so it doesn't really matter.
