Default Alcons AMT's ???

Hi,

Came across these:

http://www.alconsaudio.de/site/technology/rbn401.html

Looks to be kind of AMT’s. Does have anyone have experience with them for home use? They look very promising.

Cheers

To me they seem to be more like the SA compact driver. I haven't any experience with them but if they are at least similar to the SA then they must be good.
I only read a short introduction of these Alcons in a German DIY speaker mag. AFAIK they were quite expensive.

Regards

Charles

Alcon's audio was started by the chief development engineer from SA Philip de Haan.
I suppose the alcon drivers will be marginally superior to those offered by SA. However i think they are going to be very expensive.

some good ribbons to try are the SA 8526, whis is based on a non neodym magnet system and weights around 10kg's and a shorter ribbon sadly not made by philips anymore called rsq8p the SA equivalent is SA8520. Furthermore I have a feeling that the new ATD DDRT 201 http://www.vittoriofranchi.it/Nastri.htm is also equivalent to the philips. But at 740 euro each they are a bit pricy.

I own a pair of rsq8p's but havent really worked with them yet as
i have SA 8526 in my main system at the moment.

Cheers
Andreas
