Hi everyone,
I've been using the wonderful Audax HD3P tweeter for the past 18 months in a modified Keywood designed KLS 11 kit. On Saturday afternoon whilst listening to a rather energetic piece of music ( Pink Floyd's 'Time') the RHS tweeter put on a little light show, melting and shrivelling up the gold coating over the fabric dome. Needless to say the tweeter doesn't work anymore and I suspect a cap has shorted out. I'm having my pre & power amp checked out this morning jsut to be sure the problem is not there. The Audax HD3P is no longer being made and I believe they are like finding 'hen's teeth'on the used market! I would appreciate any suggestions from other forum members as to what I should replace the HD3P's with. My initial thought has been for the Audax TWO25A26, however, I would like to take my time on this one as I believe the HD3P made the KLS11 as good as they are. Thanks in advance for any assistance. Cheers, |
