Question bass reflex for Ariel ME2

Hi

I'm building the Ariel ME2 but I can't find pipes with 1" diameter.
It needs two of them.
I'm planning to use one pipe with 3.5cm (1.38")diameter.But how long it is needed to be?
The internal volume of the speaker is 521 cubic inches and the original design has a pair of vents with 1"dia. that are 4,125"long.

Thanks

If your talking internal diameters then the 1.38" pipe will have
1.9 x the area of each 1" pipe making it virtually equivalent to 2.

4" long will be fine IMO.

sreten.

The forumula for ports is shown on diysubwoofers.org

Lv = (23562.5*Dv^2*Np/(Fb^2*Vb))-(k*Dv)

where,

Dv = port diameter (cm)
Fb = tuning frequency (Hz)
Vb = net volume (litres)
Lv = length of each port (cm)
Np = number of ports
k = end correction (normally 0.732)
