c-coil (toroid) in 2.5 way system
 
Hi,

Just wondering if this is fine to use toroid c-coil from jantzen in 2.5 way system for lower bass output? In such system boths midwoofers are connected in parallel. One play mids(<2200hz) and lows and one only lows below 300-400hz. I thought to use c-coil for lower midwoofer. but can anybody tell me if c-coil(toroid) would have negative(audible) effect on "higher" midwoofer?

Adding an inductor will not make more bass.

Troels did use such a coil in a project. See here: DTQWT-mkII
But IMHO for a 4.7mH inductor I would stay with a more conventional and cheaper cored coil. One with DCR < 0.3 Ohm would cost less than half the one you are proposing.

Hi,

L3 will not affect the bassmid driver. It does not
have to particularly low resistance in any sense.
L2 needs to be beefy to handle both drivers well.

FWIW...
I had a pair of 4.7mH C-Coils that measured 2.7mH and 2.9mH, so please measure for best results. I also had a pair of 1.5mH that were just fine.
