Default replcement for hokutone woofer in india

hey there you all. its just overwhelming to know that there are so many true audiophiles form india. but it is very frustrating to know that there is little for us diy's in india. i infact have a classic 3way 4 speaker system of the murphy brand using hokutone(hokuto onkyo)drivers. it has been around in my house for the well much longer than i have .it is around 28 years old while i am only 21. the system is a closed woofer system with loads of glass wool filled in it . the 10 inch woofer's cone seems to have torn and needs replacement. i also had the 5 inch midbass driver rewound. dopes anyone know where i can find good woofer(10 inch)for it in india(preferably in bangalore).the woofer needs to be of 8 ohm impedance.
thogh the system is rated to be 40 watts max i am feeding about 40 watts rms!! thogh it reproduces excellent sound is it safe?? please advise!!

Default Details!

You haven't described the 10 inch driver. If only the surround is torn , you could replace that with a rubber surround that you can buy in the market. The driver parameters will change but better than throwing it away. Other 10 inch drivers are from Bolton or Peerless India ( Mumbai ). Both have no published specs. Nothing great but useable.
There are other smaller brands but more difficult to find and with unknown performance.Replacing the cone on the 10 inch would change everything. Unless it is done buy a very knowledgeable person it is probably not worth it. Your best bet now is probably a Bolton !
Cheers.

no the surround is fine but seems kind of feeble.
the problem is the dust cap it seems to be collapsing on itself. it has become almost like wet paper(that soft)and there are some small holes in the dust cap. does this warrant the replacement of the whole woofer.
