Hello,
(same message, with a more explicit Subject) I have a pair of Philips "MFB Electronic 22 RH 532" speakers, housing built-in amplifiers - a free gift from my in-laws, who bought them 30 years ago... The tweeters & mediums are dead. Philips does not seem to be able to replace them. Does anyone know whether these tweeters & mediums are still available ; or, more probably, what are equivalent models can be used as replacements? References : • tweeters 2,5 cm AD 0160T • mediums 12 cm , AD 5060 Sq (output 20 watts) What would you recommend ? Thanks ! Eric Mounier |

Hello!
Try www.hifikit.se Type in philips in the search-box. They had, at least alittle while ago, the AD 50600/SQ midrange and a replacement for AD0163 from "Response". Site only in swedish but you can read their specs and contact them to see if they sell abroad. Good luck Martin |

Eric:
If you can or know someone who speaks Dutch, go to this website, it's a fantastic resource for finding Philips MFB parts. Go To: < http://www.marktplaats.nl > and type in : Philips Mfb in the top right empty box (to the right of the words: "Kijk in uw wijk" Make sure "Marketplaats.nl" is selected in the drop down box to the right of the box you typed "Philips Mfb" in. Many, many components to be had for a price. Enjoy. They are great loudspeakers. I have 2 pair of 532's. The first ones I bought used in Sweden in 1977 and shipped them back to the USA in 1978 and the second pair I bought from someone in the U.S. about 6 years ago. They still sound great! Enjoy, Ken |

I have a pile of AD tweeters here... i'll check to see if i have that one.
AFAIK the AD5060SQ is an AD5060 monted in an enclosure to turn it into a sealed mid (been a while since i dissassembled one). I do have some AD5060. I may even have some broken SQ (i know i have some broken mid-domes) What impedance are yours -- usually denoted as M4 or M8? dave

Hi Mounier,
I use to love the sound of tweeter AD160T which has been used around 1975 by many loudspeaker manufacturers, B&O, Tandberg or Goodmans for example. You should find some quite easily, however, I still own two as spare parts. I also have some documentation on the Philips acceletation Motion FeedbBack. Email me if you are interesrted. AD 5060 SQ. More rare. Yesterday, I saw two of them (I think they were Philips), used in a pair of 3A loudpseakers sold by Le troc de l'ile at Poitiers (France). |

Hi Mounier,
I will have a look, since I might have a pair of both at home - but this will take a least to the weekend. I don't think you will understand Dutch, but there is a site 'devoted' to motional feedback speakers (and other philips equipment) where you can find service manuals and people willing to help. MFB freaks site and forum They actually have some servicepoints in the Netherlands and you might be able to acquire some parts there. Grtz, Martin Btw, nice speakers you have, I like mine a lot also! ;-) P.S. If you are going to look on www.marktplaats.nl please have a look at www.mfbfreaks.nl to find out which passive philips models use the same midrange since most of them are very cheap to get nowadays. (<€20,-) |

I took a quick look, and people on the mfbfreaks forum seem - at least most of them - to agree that it is also possible to use an 5062/SQ8. They have the same specifications according to the philips databooks and they are often found in philips AH484. Since with these speakers the woofers often have rotten surrounds they are pretty cheap to pick up.
Btw, the 5061 seems to be a diffent kind of unit, so not usable. The same is the case for the 4Ohm versions of the 5060 and 5062 which are found in the AH426. Grtz, Martin |
