As for comparison.

TonyG actually uses both in his kits, and his highest performance kit's feature the wax coil. (..and he doesn't limit himself on the manufacturer..)

Higher performing kit:
Humble Homemade Hifi
"Lower" performing kit:
Humble Homemade Hifi

In fact generally his kit's are good examples of performance/value parts selection for the crossover.

ok, however he don't explain why use wax coil and theri differences in souind....i'm searching something where are explained the main defferences

thank you

I think it's to avoid vibration and skin effect between the foils...

After it's a question of design : some prefer Mundorf zero ohms, others inclued resistiv of the coils in the final calcul of the filter... It's a detail in relation to the choice of the drivers and the load of the box.

You can go to active crossover without wax for a better result and freedom in the set up...just a though.

Freedom for the bees

He prefers their sound.

from the Galactica (bottom of page 5):

"..The series inductor is a copper-foil with paper in bee's wax type for best imaging, separation and natural harmonics."

..as to *why* it provides these improved characteristics?

-well, Mundorf's copper foil designs were premised on lowered vibration of the coils (see link below), based on independent measurements from Hobby HiFi. IF that's the case then surely the damping provided by the bee's wax improves this characteristic further.

The wax does seem like a good thing regarding coils being microphonic, as would potting them in general.

There was a time when all my drivers were quite low in sensitivity and I'd occasionally burn the varnish on one or two of the coils at excessive levels.
