quality DIY DJ monitors?

Looking to built some DIY DJ monitors.

preferably
- 2-3 way
- high quality
- good bass output
- drivers & recone kits are readily available and have long support cycle

Is there a DIY design similar to the Funktion One Resolution2 series?
A lot of my clients would like something like that.

I heard there are Chinese funktion one knock offs... maybe I could get Resolution2 knock-offs and replace the drivers with better ones from a local source

any ideas?
