Cabinet ideas for Beyma 10BR60

Studio:

IMHO you should be looking into a front loaded mid bass horn. Since you are a woodworker it should be fairly easy for you. It is harder to get a good blend between mid horn and a sealed or vented mid bass box and you can never get the " snap " and dynamics of a good mid bass horn. Once you hear a proper mid bass horn there is no going back to any kind of box mid bass solution.

Check out Volvotreter wedsite and Inlow sound for some ideas.

Studio Au:

I do not know if these drivers would perform well in a horn. Perhaps someone else reading this thread could comment on that point.

If these drivers don't perform will in a horn I would get the proper driver that Inlow and Volvotreter suggest. It would be worth it even if you had to get different drivers for the gain in performance and the increase in sensitivity to match your mid horn.

im going to make a suggestion based on experience with big speakers with longer listening position distances. Listen to these ( and measure) with the cabinets inverted where the woofer is as you intended and with the woofer closer to the floor. I'm pretty confident you'll prefer the woofer lower as there will be less cancellations in the 200-300hz range and bass guitar and drum dynamics will be more realistic.

Wanna commission some wooden waveguides?

CNC challenge

Build a MDF CNC wooden LeCleach curve horn, and the midbass/bass cabinet which it glues onto as an integrated part of the front baffle, that maintains continuous smooth, low diffraction curves, low diffraction radius edges.

e.g. Geddes Summa with round top which matches shape of LeCleach horn.

e.g. Gary Dahl's Altec 416B midbass and LeCleach 425 horn.

BEYMA 10BR60v2 - WOOFER PRO 10"

HI !

I would like to build a sealed box two-way with THREE 10BR60v2 and one Horn (90x60) 2 " . So do you have any ideas of the volume that could be nice to go down to 32Hz, (I would like to get fast, quick, tight bass response and go up in dB (91 origin is very low for me) So Two or four columns with 3 X 10" and one 2" horn, which driver would do the job ? I like aggressive Highs (like Klipsch, for example) They will be in ACTIVE 2 WAY X-over. Could you help me about the volume for this project please ? I do have the 12 Beyma in stock, but NO idea about the 2" driver Beryllium ? Titanium ?...... Thank you so mmuch for ALL your ideas, advises, plans, EVERYthing's you can find out to give me a big help, I do have a large room, and in order to get one perfect L C R, I will build 4 X 8" and one 1,5" driver (the same which would be in the columns, to get the song) Do you have any idea about the frequency cut ? THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH for all your feedback, I'm fully open. Thank you All, Yves 🙂
