This is from the Adire web site for the PR 15.
"Attached to the center of the MDF diaphragm is a 2.5" OD cardboard tube. This tube is used to connect the diaphragm to the full spider. And it also makes a VERY convenient place to add additional mass to the PR, is needed. Fill the tube with the desired amount of silicone, epoxy, or other material (fender washers and modeling clay work great), and you're guaranteed to have the mass centered and supported between the surround and the spider. No cantilevering of the PR at all!"
