Default Looking for a 12" woofer

Bonjour,

I'm lookink for a 12" woofer in order to make a passive system with
a Davis 16GKLV6M and a Audax TW034.

The primary idea is to cross at 350 Hz first order as was done in a kit called MV15, see pdf in attachment.

I think the speaker must match few criteria :

- sensitivity around 96 db for 3/4 db BSC (16GKLV6M is around autour de 92 crossed by a self of 0.6 mH)
- max enclosure size around 90/100l
- price 200 € max

I've seen two beyma references wich seem interresting :

12LX60V2 : ~200 €
SM112 : ~120 €

Has anyone used this speakers ?
Any advices welcome

new 12" Mivoc looks interesting, and can be weight tuned for closed box

or maybe look at SB Acoustics

but most 12" Pro/PA woofers seem to have very high Fs

if its to change an already existing speaker, I suppose you know how to change the crosover for the new woofer ?

Original woofer had a fs of 38 Hz, Beyma SM112 has also a FS of 38 hz.

T/S parameters below of the 31TCA12 :

PN: 150W - QTS: 0.31 - FS: 38 - VAS: 216 - BL: 12.6 Re DC: 6.9
sensitivity 96 db/2.83V

you have to check each woofer with a calculation or simulating software
or else you wont know how it works

btw, is it a speaker you have, or part of it ?
or is it just 'an idea' for a 'design' ?

I still like the 80300 Peerless, but 350 may be a bit high.

-looks like it can be found for around 150 euros from several sources..

It has a more linear response and lower non-linear distortion at lower freq.s..

Yes, I own the medium 16GKLV6M (second hand) and the TW034.

Concerning the simulation, i'm able tu use WinISD but i'm looking for advices from "end users"

Thank all for the answers,

ScottG, the 12LW30 seems to be an interessting driver

Another candidate could be the one of the AE TD12 serie, I've asked AE for the shipping costs.

I'm going to do simulation with WinISD for all the drivers expet the 12BR70 who needs a ~90l enclosure.

I also own a sub 60l enclosure that could be used for tests.
