Hai all,

I have been considering putting together an Ariel type of loudspeaker with the following drivers from http://www.madison.com

Silver Flute make:W14RC-25S-08 (5.25" Mid-Bass drivers)
YAG-20 Ribbon Tweeters

Make this into an active system, driven by Mosfet Amps and the much awaited Pass crossover.

What do you think? Anyone here with experience with the Silver Flute drivers?

Thanks and cheers,

The Ariel is a very good speaker, tweaked and optimised by an experienced designer. If you use two different drivers and crossover who knows what it will sound like? But it won't be an Ariel, and no one can possibly know now what the final result will be like.

Do you plan to substitute for the enclosure too?

I've used the YAG-20 tweeters, and am pretty happy with them. They are a little peaky, and need a fairly high x-over point, but overall they sound pretty good. I have a pair of those Silver Flute woofer, but haven't used them yet. They seem to be very well built and a quality driver. Keep us updated on the progress of your project.

Cheers,
Zach
