Just joining in to show my progress
I've made a quick test on a pair of enclosures, which are not cardboard
but pre-made concrete and wood ;)

Hi Moondog, you should see the cabinets suspended with rubber bands, but
eminently hear them. Also detach mechanically (i.e. suspend with r.b.) the tweeter
from the cabinet ( indeed the position of the cabinet is actually upside down).
Those cabs were undersized for the 5 1/2" they housed before, now I must say they
are just right ( exponential vent )

Not against mine when using first order electrical LOL
If I knew Le or the nominal zobel values I could then fudge a strange second order XO on the woofer ( just using the "book" 50uF and 12R doesn't really work too well) as I know I'll need a second order n the mids to keep them clean, I tend to play my rock&Roll louder than some.

Ah ah still struggling about the crossover et similia ?
I finished the speakers and they are singing superbly and...loudly
By using rubberbands for suspending the cabinet & the tweeter itself,
the music flows uninterruptly....indeed it's not interrupted every each
second....you'll see and hear if you try.
But of course they are not Pc speakers!
Feed them with nice amplifiers and good vynils ( of course turntable's problems
with vibration & resonance are another chapter :p)
