Default Pine wood cabinet

I am buiding 2.1 system for my computer. I want to use pine wood for making satellite speakers & MDF for subwoofer. Guide me in the matter.

I wouldn't recommend the use of any kind of plank wood for speakers, just composite stuff like MDF or similar products. The idea being that composite products are more acoustically dead.

palesha take a look in the "introductions" forum thread, I have a pic of some "pine"(baltic) PC speakers
AS GRollins said above, they are MDF (12mm) with pine on the outside(15-16mm), thats over 1 inch thick!(no internal bracing)

I built my first pair of speakers (long time ago) out of pinewood because it was cheap and easy to work with. Within the first 5-10 years, the pinewood began to dry, split, and warp. My sealed cabinet was no longer sealed, not to mention the resonance problems pointed out by Grey above...
